About the role
Become a Broadcast Maintenance Technician at Paramount, a leading global media and entertainment company. Your responsibilities will involve troubleshooting and maintaining broadcast environments, including IP video infrastructure, test and measurement equipment, and various signal processing systems.
Responsibilities
- Support and troubleshoot on-air playout in broadcast and streaming environments
- Operate live broadcast control rooms, especially in sports and live entertainment settings
- Maintain transmission operations for real-time monitoring and distribution across multiple delivery paths
- Configure and maintain Evertz IP-based systems, including ST 2110 routing, signal processing, and NMOS integration
- Support channel origination workflows with Grass Valley AMPP and graphics insertion
- Manage Imagine Communications SNP or equivalent IP gateway systems in live production or playout environments
- Work with TAG Video Systems multiviewers and configure IRDs, L-Band routers, and RF equipment
- Ensure cloud-based or hybrid broadcast workflows are functioning correctly
- Collaborate with engineering teams to troubleshoot issues across routing control systems, multicast networking, and downstream playout or monitoring devices
- Write clear and detailed documentation for operational procedures, troubleshooting guides, and engineering run books
- Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Requirements
- 3+ years of engineering support and troubleshooting experience in broadcast environments
- Expert-level knowledge of SMPTE ST 2110 IP video infrastructure
- Proficiency with broadcast test and measurement equipment
- Understanding of broadcast network design principles, including redundancy models and multicast design
- Experience with Evertz IP-based systems, including ST 2110 routing, signal processing, and NMOS integration
- Knowledge of broadcast engineering best practices related to signal redundancy, failover, and resiliency design
- Experience supporting channel origination workflows with Grass Valley AMPP
- Experience with Imagine Communications SNP or equivalent IP gateway systems
- Familiarity with TAG Video Systems multiviewers and Telestream PRISM waveform monitors
- Working knowledge of color space conversion and HDR/SDR compatibility
- Proficiency configuring and troubleshooting IRDs, L-Band routers, and RF equipment
- Knowledge of cloud-based or hybrid broadcast workflows
- Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering teams
- Proficient written documentation skills
