4-H Program Educator
About the role
Lafayette County is located in the beautiful Driftless region of southwest Wisconsin. A beautiful location for working with youth and adult volunteers throughout the county. This position is supported by the Division of Extension - Positive Youth Development Institute. It offers a great opportunity to strengthen connections and collaborations between the community and UW Madison Division of Extension through the 4-H youth development program.
Responsibilities
- Provide management, training, and support of adult and youth Volunteers, utilizing best practices
- Leads the implementation of programs, policies, and procedures through oversight of day-to-day activities for program staff and student and community volunteers
- Identifies, promotes, and maintains external partnerships to support the outreach program
- Schedules and secures resources and communicates logistics in support of an outreach program
- Delivers outreach program content and materials to community members
- Researches, develops, and facilitates outreach program content and materials
- Develops and evaluates curriculum and programs and provides recommendations for improvement
- May assist with the monitoring of outreach program budget spending
Requirements
- Experience working with youth, particularly in a programming capacity as well as experience in volunteer management
- Experience supporting or working in youth development, education, Extension, or volunteer-focused programs
- Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to build and maintain professional and collaborative work environments
- Demonstrated ability to effectively work with people from a wide range of backgrounds and perspectives
Qualifications
- Required Education: Bachelor's degree
- Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree in Education, Youth Development, Social Sciences, or Human Development
Skills
- Experience using enrollment, registration, event management, or customer relationship management (CRM) systems
- Experience creating newsletters, social media content, or marketing materials
Benefits
Compensation: The minimum annual (12 months) starting Salary for the position is $60,795 but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.

Schedule
In Person: It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated office location. Evening/Weekend Work: This position may be required to work occasional nights and weekends to meet the program needs and priorities of the communities served. Travel Expectations: It is expected that employees will make individual arrangements for transportation adequate to meet position responsibilities and essential job functions.
