4-H Muscogee County AmeriCorps Member, Part-time
About the role
The 4-H Muscogee County AmeriCorps Member, Part-time position is available for a 12-month term starting September 1, 2026, and ending August 31, 2027. This position is funded through a grant from Georgia Serves (Georgia Commission on Service & Volunteerism) and AmeriCorps, the federal agency.
Responsibilities
Deliver 4-H positive youth development programming directly to youth, including:
- Facilitating/teaching 4-H in-school club meetings
- Preparing students for 4-H Project Achievement
- Attending 4-H Summer Camp
- Designing and implementing community service projects
- Aiding with other 4-H base programming
Support and provide leadership to the county 4-H Volunteer program:
- Recruit, screen, train, and engage volunteers
- Assist with coordinating the county volunteer registration database
Track and document data related to the AmeriCorps Grant performance measures and complete monthly reports, supported by the AmeriCorps State Program Coordinator.
- Administer surveys to youth and enter data into provided spreadsheets
Attend local, district, and state program activities and events alongside 4-H County Extension Coordinator. Attend district and state-wide trainings, including the AmeriCorps New Service Year Orientation (October 6-7, 2026, at Rock Eagle 4-H Center) as well as additional face-to-face trainings and at least monthly webinars.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required.
A valid driver’s license is required.
Must be a U.S. citizen with proof of citizenship.
Qualifications
Experience working with youth a plus.
Physical Demands: Driving, light lifting, occasional work outdoors in adverse climate.
Skills
Independent judgment, passion for service, and ability to plan, develop, and direct educational programs directed at youth.
