About the role

The 4-H Muscogee County AmeriCorps Member, Part-time position is available for a 12-month term starting September 1, 2026, and ending August 31, 2027. This position is funded through a grant from Georgia Serves (Georgia Commission on Service & Volunteerism) and AmeriCorps, the federal agency.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver 4-H positive youth development programming directly to youth, including:

    • Facilitating/teaching 4-H in-school club meetings
    • Preparing students for 4-H Project Achievement
    • Attending 4-H Summer Camp
    • Designing and implementing community service projects
    • Aiding with other 4-H base programming
  • Support and provide leadership to the county 4-H Volunteer program:

    • Recruit, screen, train, and engage volunteers
    • Assist with coordinating the county volunteer registration database
  • Track and document data related to the AmeriCorps Grant performance measures and complete monthly reports, supported by the AmeriCorps State Program Coordinator.

    • Administer surveys to youth and enter data into provided spreadsheets
  • Attend local, district, and state program activities and events alongside 4-H County Extension Coordinator. Attend district and state-wide trainings, including the AmeriCorps New Service Year Orientation (October 6-7, 2026, at Rock Eagle 4-H Center) as well as additional face-to-face trainings and at least monthly webinars.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • A valid driver’s license is required.

  • Must be a U.S. citizen with proof of citizenship.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with youth a plus.

  • Physical Demands: Driving, light lifting, occasional work outdoors in adverse climate.

Skills

Independent judgment, passion for service, and ability to plan, develop, and direct educational programs directed at youth.

Schedule

M-F 8am to 5pm; some nights and weekends are required.
