About the role
As a CPI Welder on our 3rd shift in Georgetown, TX, you will occupy a key role in working with and for a company that builds the physical infrastructure that powers, protects, and secures the world’s digital technology.
Responsibilities
- Under direct supervision, set up and operate gas and electric welding equipment used in the manufacturing of metal cabinets.
- Plan details of working procedure, tools, and material requirements.
- Weld sheet metal using different welding positions (flat, overhead, vertical, etc.).
- Clean and prepare surfaces (including sanding) to be welded.
- Use cutting torch equipment to dismantle assemblies and to cut material to size and shape.
- Build up worn or defective surfaces.
- Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly.
- Work from blueprints, engineering specifications, and production schedules.
- Upon completion of welding operations, assist other areas as needed.
- Continuously maintain a clean work area and dispose of trash and production scrap.
- Assist in cleaning common areas.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- High school or equivalent education preferred.
- Production welding with sheet metal experience preferred.
- Must demonstrate the capability of welding sheet metal products by passing a welding test.
- Proficient in reading and understanding blueprints and engineering specifications.
- Basic reading, writing, and numerical ability.
- Proficient in using measuring devices as required for product inspection.
- Available and willing to work extended hours and/or weekends as production demands dictate.
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision.

Physical/Environmental Requirements
- Must be knowledgeable of safe operating rules and procedures and demonstrate competence through written and practical application.
- Must wear all required personal protective equipment, especially eye protection due to the considerable glare emitted from work.
- Work involves varying degrees of precision and control where damage could be considerable.
- Lift up to 50 lbs.
- Occasional pushing/pulling of carts with loaded material.
- Attention and care required to prevent injury to others when lifting, carrying, and manipulating lengthy materials (e.g., 10’).
- Frequent stooping, bending, reaching, and working on structures of varying height and length.
- Frequent elbow/wrist movement while grasping parts and finished assembly.
- Constant standing and walking.
- Work area must be carefully enclosed to prevent injury to others from sparks and flying chips.
