3rd Shift Welder

About the Role

Assist in the fabrication of parts by producing quality welds and completing the fabrication process under strict supervision.

Responsibilities

• Produce quality welds to complete fabrication process
• Level, scrape, and finish edges or surfaces using hand scraper
• Adjust valves to obtain flame of specified size and color and adjust arc welding equipment to obtain specified size arc
• Obtain accurate amperage, voltage, slope, and pulse on welding unit
• Clean weld joint
• Able to meet established deadlines
• Follow verbal instructions
• Hand and interpret linear tape measure

Requirements

• One-year experience working in production or fabrication facility desired
• General mechanical aptitude and knowledge of machines/tools used in manufacturing or mechanical shops
• Strong arm-hand steadiness and manual dexterity, including hand, arm, and finger ability
• 1 year welding experience preferred

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear
• Frequently required to walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms
• Occasionally required to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception

Work Environment

• Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts
• Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles
• Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions
• Moderate noise level in the work environment
