About the Role
Direct plant technical division shift activities in assigned area (DC, MC, or ASM). Ensure manufacturing activities comply with industry standards, meet production schedules, and maintain high-quality standards. The role requires strong technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues and improve processes. This position oversees the DI area on 3rd Shift, with typical hours of 10 PM–6 AM.
Responsibilities
- Direct Technical Resources Activities (40%): Coordinate technical tasks and ensure efficient use of resources.
- Coordinate Activities with Production Management (15%): Align technical operations with production goals and schedules.
- General Project Management (15%): Oversee projects from planning to execution, ensuring timely completion.
- Control & Monitor Department and Capital Project Budgets (10%): Manage financial resources and track expenditures.
- Coordinate New Model Activities with KNA (10%): Facilitate the introduction of new models and ensure smooth transitions.
- Provide direction and supervision to hourly and salaried associates (5%): Lead and support team members to achieve departmental goals.
- Other Duties as Assigned (5%): Perform additional tasks as required.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and environmental regulations, ensuring compliance with ISO 14001 environmental management standards.
- Analyze technology, resource needs, and market demand to assess project feasibility.
- Improve manufacturing proficiency levels to meet plant goals and objectives.
- Maintain knowledge of all processes, procedures, and equipment within Technical C.
- Coordinate and recommend cost savings and efficiency ideas for the facility.
- Conduct performance evaluations for subordinate personnel and provide support/training as needed.
Requirements
- 4-year college degree, 2-year degree with 8 years of relevant work experience, or 15 years of combined supervision and technical experience.
- Minimum of 4 years of related work experience.
- Intermediate proficiency in Windows, MS Word, and PowerPoint.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to read and understand complex mechanical prints (using JIS standards).
- Commitment to high standards and the ability to inspire those qualities in others.
- Proven ability to maintain a clean and orderly work environment, make sound business decisions, and exercise good judgment.
- Ability to interact with various levels of associates and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
- Handle multiple functions and deadlines, work independently, and make effective decisions.
- Utilize and maintain effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Maintain a high degree of honesty, confidentiality, and integrity.
Preferred Qualifications
- Intermediate proficiency with CAD.
Software Experience
- Basic experience with Glovia.
- Intermediate experience with Windows, MS Word, and PowerPoint.
- Advanced experience with Excel.
- Intermediate experience with CAD (preferred).
Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervise both salaried and hourly associates.
Physical and Mental Requirements
- Ability to work for long periods while sitting.
- Standing, walking, and bending for the duration of the workday.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Visual ability to work accurately with detailed information and a computer screen.
- Full motor skills.
Work Environment
Factory setting with noise. The role primarily operates indoors.
