Responsibilities
- Operate a sit-down forklift
- Stage steel and load it onto payoff wheels
- Move barrels and dump scrap hoppers
- Print labels and use a variety of gauges to ensure quality
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
- Label, scan, and move product per specifications
- Enter data into Measurlink
- Follow all company rules, regulations, and work processes
- Adhere to 5S responsibilities
- Hold self-accountable for creating and maintaining a safe working environment
- Perform tasks with a focus on safety in a fast-paced environment
- Contribute to team efforts and continuous improvement
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management for training or assistance
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience operating a forklift
- Basic computer knowledge
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Attention to detail and mechanical aptitude
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems
- Effective communication in a professional manner
- Ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals)
- Ability to read, comprehend, and write simple instructions and correspondence
- Ability to present information in one-on-one and small group settings
- Ability to work in a team environment or independently
- Willingness to work overtime
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; talk, hear, and smell
- Frequently required to reach with hands and arms
- Occasionally required to sit, stoop, or crouch
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 45 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration
