About the Plant

The Kendallville facility employs 280 people across three shifts. Purchased in 1934 from Breyer’s Ice Cream, the plant began producing caramel in 1935, marshmallows and marshmallow crème in 1961, and Marbits (dehydrated marshmallows found in cereal) in 1979. Kendallville is the sole producer of all these product lines.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently dismantle, clean, and re-assemble production equipment (e.g., kettles, pumps, pipes, valves, drums, tables, belts, sifters, dryers, packaging equipment/machines, conveyors, blenders) and support equipment (e.g., coils, drains, overheads, fans).
• Monitor and communicate any process or product abnormalities to your Supervisor, Team Leader, or Line Technician.
• Support and guide temporary employees assigned to your designated area.
• Report all safety concerns and potential hazards to Supervisor, Team Leader, or Line Technician.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Team Leader.

Qualifications

• Self-motivated with a strong drive for results.
• Able to use simple mathematics.
• Capable of lifting 50 pounds and climbing a ladder.
• Able to work in areas that contain dust and starch particles.
• Able to work in hot and humid conditions.
• Basic knowledge of manufacturing and/or food processing, quality standards, hygiene, and work safety preferred.

Pay

$24.75 per hour

Schedule

3rd shift: Friday 6:30 PM – 6:30 AM and Saturday 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM. Daily/weekly overtime possible.
