Responsibilities

  • Ensure all employees understand and abide by all Company safety rules, regulations, and policies.
  • Maintain safe and sanitary working conditions in accordance with Company standards, state & federal laws and regulations.
  • Ensure employees understand their OSHA rights.
  • Conduct safety training topics as required or needed.
  • Schedule employees to attend all assigned safety meetings, toolbox talks, and safety training sessions.
  • Promptly investigate all accidents and near misses, completing appropriate reports and taking action to eliminate root causes.
  • Direct facility maintenance organization to achieve uninterrupted operation of the facility and maintain its condition.
  • Plan, schedule, direct, and oversee maintenance labor to ensure timely and workmanlike completion of work, adherence to procedures, and accurate reporting.
  • Verify proper completion of Maintenance Work Order Forms and ensure they are routed correctly.
  • Distribute maintenance workforce according to hours and responsibilities to ensure uninterrupted operation.
  • Coordinate maintenance operations with Facilities Engineering and Plant Production management.
  • Affirm timely completion of all maintenance work, with special emphasis on the planned preventive maintenance program.
  • Establish and review preventive maintenance procedures for all equipment, providing necessary revisions to improve effectiveness.
  • Audit maintenance workforce performance to ensure high-quality and quantity of work.
  • Make recommendations to the Maintenance Manager and Manager of Facilities Engineering regarding repairs, modifications, replacements, and maintenance staffing levels.
  • Maintain maintenance stores inventory at the minimum required level for uninterrupted operation.
  • Provide necessary tools, instruments, manuals, drawings, and procedures for efficient workforce utilization.
  • Participate in the Quality Improvement Process, conduct employee involvement and training meetings, and promote safety.
  • Publish a detailed monthly report on maintenance activity and expenditures.
  • Maintain all areas under his control in a safe, clean, and orderly condition.
  • Maintain accurate and updated overtime records.

Qualifications

  • High School Graduate
  • Five years industrial maintenance experience
  • Willingness to work extended hours, weekends, or other shifts if required
  • Professional appearance maintained
  • Good performance and attendance record maintained
  • Physically and mentally capable of handling exerting and/or stressful situations
  • Able to conduct and participate in meetings
