Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist or perform preventative, corrective tasks on process and facility equipment.
- Maintain a high standard of personal integrity and conduct.
- Complete daily computer tasks to keep PM and work orders up to date, ensuring accuracy and clarity of work documentation.
- Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements.
- Follow diagrams, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications to troubleshoot malfunctions.
- Be punctual and adhere to all safety policies, general manufacturing policies, and food safety guidelines.
- Requisition repair parts for equipment and facility as required.
- Complete assigned tasks in a safe and timely manner, and seek to increase knowledge and gain experience in the Maintenance field.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Basic mechanical and electrical skills to assist or perform tasks on process and facility equipment.
- Knowledgeable with the proper use of hand and power tools, as well as special equipment tools.
- The ability to follow diagrams, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications.
- The ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- The ability to stand or be on one’s feet for long periods of time, perform continuous and repetitive motions, and lift, push, and pull objects weighing up to 60 pounds.
- The ability to work in various environmental conditions, including hot and refrigerated areas.
Physical Demands
- Strength, stamina, and mobility to perform physical work in all conditions.
- Vision to read printed materials and a computer screen.
- Hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone or radio.
- Ability to stand or be on one’s feet for long periods of time on hard surfaces.
- Continuous and repetitive motion, including lifting, pushing, and pulling products or objects, as well as bending, twisting, and reaching with the torso.
- The ability to work in hot and refrigerated areas for long periods of time.
