What this job involves
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems including HVAC, conveyors, production machinery, and other facility equipment.
- Execute the scheduled preventive maintenance program to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime through lubrication, inspections, and component replacement.
- Address urgent and routine maintenance requests submitted through our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) in a timely and efficient manner.
- Perform routine inspections of equipment and systems to identify potential issues and ensure compliance with all safety regulations, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all maintenance work performed, including parts used and time spent, within the CMMS.
- Communicate effectively with other shift teams to ensure seamless transitions, providing clear updates on ongoing projects, completed tasks, and any outstanding issues.
- Keep maintenance shops, storage areas, and work sites clean, organized, and safe.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience as a maintenance mechanic in an industrial, manufacturing, or distribution environment
- High school diploma or GED required
- Strong troubleshooting ability with mechanical and electrical systems
- Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyor systems, and motors
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
- Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
- Strong communication skills for coordinating with team members and management
- Commitment to safety and quality in all aspects of work
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb ladders for extended periods
- Willingness to work in an environment that may involve exposure to noise, dust, and temperature variations
Preferred Qualifications
- Certificate from a technical or vocational school in a related field (e.g., industrial maintenance, electrical technology)
- Basic plumbing and carpentry skills
