3rd Shift Maintenance Mechanic

Description

The Maintenance Mechanic at Perrigo NY is responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting the mechanical aspects of manufacturing and packaging equipment and facilities in compliance with standard operating procedures. The position must complete work orders performing a wide variety of skilled maintenance activities and must be able to conduct and perform maintenance, repair, improvements, set-ups, troubleshooting, follow up, Root Cause Analysis, Reliability Maintenance, and report to supervisor on all packaging and compounding equipment.

Scope of the Role

• Complete daily Maintenance Tracker to inform Master Mechanic and/or supervisor when walk-through of designated areas are conducted throughout the day.
• Perform preventive maintenance to all packaging, compounding, and warehouse equipment.
• Perform packaging and compounding equipment repairs as required (MTCE).
• Perform training to production personnel in the proper use of equipment.
• Perform equipment set-up, fine-tune, and troubleshooting of equipment utilizing Root Cause Analysis methods.

Experience Required

• Five (5) years of hands-on mechanical experience with packaging equipment from either Pharmaceutical, food, packaging, or another similar manufacturing environment.
• Successful completion of a certification program that is accredited and recognized in the areas of mechanical engineering/mechanical design/troubleshooting etc.
• OR Three (3) years as a Perrigo Set Up Tech plus at least two years of completed education and active enrollment in a Mechanical/Industrial/Production/Electromechanical Engineering program from an accredited university/college.
