3rd Shift Logistics Production Manager

Caterpillar has an opening for a 3rd shift Logistics Production Manager who will collaborate with the team to maintain and improve processes and systems and the manufacturing of the products produced in the facility. You will analyze and recommend current and future systems, procedures, and equipment needs based on manufacturing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and improve shop floor safety, aggressively eliminating unsafe processes
• Determine priorities and sequence jobs
• Schedule and prioritize constrained resources, and adjust staff to meet flow and customer requirements
• Ensure production material is procured and distributed to meet production schedules
• Increase production efficiency through continuous improvement and waste elimination
• Determine overtime needs and priorities when resources are insufficient
• Ensure preventive maintenance is performed according to schedule
• Implement Lean Manufacturing, 6 Sigma, Internal Certification, and others
• Develop and deploy standard work for each work area
• Drive root cause corrective action projects and continuous improvement
• Manage outbound shipments for multiple customer types, including processing, systems, and required documentation for overseas shipments

• Planning and Organizing: Knowledge of the process of planning and arranging tasks and resources; ability to plan and organize both time and resources to get things completed while structuring and maintaining work in a systematic and highly methodical way.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of lean manufacturing processes and tools, machine shop operations, equipment, and processes
• Strong teamwork, interpersonal, and communication skills
• Exhibit critical thinking, analytical skills, and initiative
• Demonstrated knowledge of order to delivery, engineering, and/or manufacturing principles
• Familiar with company policies and procedures

Pay

Summary pay range: $81,370.00 - $122,060.00. Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance, and experience.
