Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility for production and quality control on both shifts.
  • Adhere to company rules and guidelines as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Conduct accident and incident investigations and document findings on the required reporting structure.
  • Enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Food Defense protocols.
  • Ensure discipline and adherence to all company rules and protocols within the Production Department.
  • Participate in all AIB/Internal Audits and Inspections.
  • Create and execute corrective action plans for any violations found during audits in the production area.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing all personnel on resources and equipment.
  • Oversee two production shifts and ensure overall goals and efficiencies are met.
  • Train all new employees and communicate staffing needs to the Staffing Agency.
  • Provide coaching, assistance, and guidance to all employees to accomplish daily tasks.
  • Document counseling and disciplinary actions for all Quality Packaging (QP) employees.
  • Work closely with the Supply Chain Manager to ensure production rates are met across both shifts.
  • Create and provide schedules for all employees as needed due to overtime or mandatory workdays.
  • Communicate with the Sales and Receiving (S/R) department on all product/material needs.
  • Manage the Production employees' productivity while maintaining the highest level of quality.
  • Maneuver personnel between production lines to improve efficiency.
  • Perform Quality Audits during shifts to ensure all employees are following Quality guidelines.
  • Assist in the training of Quality Control personnel.
  • Oversee all Quality Holds from production lines and communicate damages to the Supply Chain Manager.
  • Review and correct any discrepancies on the Production and Accountability (P&A) daily.
  • Calculate employee timecards and reconcile them using the P&A for actual labor worked.
  • Hit required production rates on all lines while maintaining the highest level of quality.
  • Manage the Warehouse Management System (WMS) and train necessary personnel on its proper use.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years experience in a manufacturing environment working in a management role.
  • Some college education preferred.
  • Working knowledge and experience with safety programs (OSHA, Workman's Comp).
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement Methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma).
  • Experience communicating Quality and Production performance to customers.
  • Experience working with a temporary workforce.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Computer literacy for usage of WMS, email, MS Office applications, intranet, and file management.
  • Bilingual - English/Spanish a plus.
  • Able to work flexible hours and minimal travel.
