About the role
The General Utility role, under the direction of the department manager/supervisor, is responsible for assisting in any and all phases of production, preparation, sanitation, and/or packaging of the product. This position provides general labor support where needed across all areas of the plant.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the production of goods, including pre-weighing ingredients, staging for mixing operations, cutting raw materials, removing discarded product/materials, and picking out defects on conveyors based on specifications.
- Maintain cleanliness in all manufacturing areas, including cardboard removal, sweeping/mopping floors, and cleaning counters and equipment to meet health and safety requirements.
- Ensure areas are organized according to 5S/production standards.
- Lubricate, hand clean parts, and assemble production equipment.
- Perform a variety of general manual labor tasks, such as lifting and moving materials, loading/unloading, assisting with heavy materials, and making minor repairs.
- Work as part of a team to complete tasks efficiently, ensuring lines are ready for startup/shutdown and minimizing downtime.
- Assist other employees with their assigned work tasks.
- Package or assist in packing finished goods, parts, materials, and equipment for customer delivery.
- Deliver and pick up materials in various parts of the plant as needed.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment.
- Follow department rules, procedures, routines, and requirements to complete assigned duties.
- If qualified, operate machinery within the site.
- Adhere to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), Allergen program, and Safety guidelines/procedures.
- Mandatory overtime may be required.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED and/or 1-year production experience in a manufacturing environment.

Pay
Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation.
