Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Affix Duraplate sheets according to Wabash and ISO standards.
  • Report defects and repair needs to production and maintenance leadership.
  • Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Work from various heights to ensure the line is running properly.
  • Operate in adverse climate conditions including hot, cold, dark, loud, and small spaces.
  • Use equipment such as Walk Behind, Hoist, SAP program, Push/Pull systems, Harness/Fall Protection, Crane, Torque wrenches, Large and small hand tools.
  • Follow Wabash Values and Leadership Principles.
  • Flexible work schedule to meet production team needs.
  • Complete assigned duties following safety policies and practices.
  • Exercise independent judgment when performing responsibilities.
  • Ensure work meets or exceeds Wabash and ISO standards.
  • Eliminate the "shift versus shift" mentality.
  • Share information to help others perform their responsibilities safely and efficiently.
  • Resolve conflicting priorities and complete tasks on time.
  • Work independently and collaboratively with other technicians, operators, maintenance, and engineers.
  • Exercise independent judgment when performing responsibilities.
  • Ensure minimal unplanned absences.
  • Handle heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling of materials over 50 pounds.

Qualifications

  • High school degree or GED equivalent.
  • Basic reading/writing and verbal skills.
  • General computer skills (Excel and Word).
  • Strong math skills.
  • Ability to read and use calipers and gauging equipment.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to exercise independent judgment when performing responsibilities.
  • Ensure work meets or exceeds Wabash and ISO standards.
  • Eliminate the "shift versus shift" mentality.
  • Shares information with others to help them perform their responsibilities safely and efficiently.
  • Resolves conflicting priorities and completes tasks on time.
  • Work independently, as well as collectively, with other Techs, operators, maintenance, and engineers.
  • Exercise independent judgment when performing responsibilities.
  • Ensure minimal unplanned absences.
  • Handle heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling of materials over 50 pounds.

Working Conditions/Environment

  • Exposure to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibrations.
  • Exposure to extreme conditions at job sites including noise levels in the work environment can be very loud with high temperatures at times.
  • Must wear necessary personal protective equipment (PPE).

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, lean, push, climb, sit, bend, kneel, stoop, handle, and operate tools or controls for the length of the shift.
  • The employee may need the full range of motion in their arms and hands.
  • Operators may also work in small spaces and frequently lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, the ability to adjust focus, and good hand-eye coordination.
