About the Role

At Sabre Industries, we connect and power America's communities with world-class utility and telecom solutions. This position performs production within prescribed codes, and according to prescribed procedures, specifications, and drawings. The 3DLP Operator should be able to identify sections to be worked on and learn basic fit up. Must complete the 3DLP Trainee program.

Responsibilities

  • Basic computer skills to pull up 3DLP programs matching the section being worked on.
  • Square shaft ends prior to calibrating the cameras to the targets.
  • Set up, operate, and load mechanical rollers.
  • Tack parts in correct locations/within Sabre tolerances.
  • Mark out thru-plate display for cutting.
  • Place targets in the appropriate locations for the program to properly display images of parts in the correct locations.
  • Identify and compensate for twist when placing targets.
  • Match traveler to section and program being used.
  • Identify material grade being worked on.
  • Use measuring tape, level, square, and angle finders to measure distances and angles.
  • Perform basic shop mathematics: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division of feet, inches, fractions, and decimals.
  • Use tables to convert fractions to decimals and decimals to fractions.
  • Wear protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, insulated welding gloves, welding cap, leather sleeves, and/or cape, and welding hood for protection against hot metal, arc rays, grinding debris, and other potential hazards.
  • Log in and out of MES correctly.
  • Report for work on time and fulfill shift responsibilities as planned.
  • Complete all responsibilities during your assigned shift as outlined in the schedule.
  • Engage respectfully with coworkers, fostering teamwork and mutual respect.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
  • 3DLP Trained.
  • Knowledge of basic shop mathematics: addition, subtraction, fractions, multiplication, and decimals.
  • Proficiency in reading complex prints and specifications in English.
  • Ability to read and write in English.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to stand 100% of scheduled shift.
  • Lifting, pushing, prying, and dragging heavy materials.
  • Capable of bending, stooping, crawling under and over, and occasionally climbing on stairs and ladders of heights up to 6 or 7 feet.
  • Must always wear hearing protection (ear plugs) due to abnormal noise levels from grinding, chipping, and hammering.
  • Adequate dexterity and stamina to sustain expected production requirements.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to lift up to fifty pounds.
  • Perform physical activities requiring considerable use of arms and legs and moving the entire body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, bending, twisting, and handling materials.
  • Manual dexterity, arm-hand steadiness, and a safety-minded approach are required.
  • Must be able to work in an open environment exposed to extreme temperatures.
