BVCC Operator (Operator A, 3rd shift)

As the Slitter Operator, you will be expected to operate the slitter to ensure maximum usage of bun/sheet stock material with a minimal generation of trim material.
Job summary
Responsible for the safe operation of a specific piece of equipment used in the manufacturing of components and/or finished products for internal and external customers as defined by a daily production schedule.
Position scope
Maintains daily communication with Quality Control, Department Manager, and other employees in the department to ensure the needs of all internal and external customers as outline by the production schedule are met. The position works in a normal manufacturing environment with exposure to temperature changes.
Responsibilities
- Prepare or glue slabs together in preparation for the cutting process
- Ability to run and operate computer controlled cutting equipment
- Monitor quality and make any adjustments in cutting
- Make thickness checks on products
- Collect data and document production programs
- Conducts quality checks to ensure product meets all specifications
- Monitors the equipment to make sure that downtime is kept to a minimum
- Inputs pertinent data into the SAP system
- Must be able to make machine adjustment when necessary
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. repeatedly throughout entire shift
- Operate the baler as needed (non-essential)
- Collect data and document on programs (non-essential)
- Assume any other functions requested by supervision (non-essential)
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Basic computer knowledge and the ability to use computerized equipment in daily operations
- Must be able to work flexible hours, weekends, holidays and call-in with little notice
- Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions
- Must be able to work with little or no supervision
- Must be able to operate a forklift
- Must have the ability to read and interpret a tape measure

Pay
$22.02-$22.75 per hour
