3D Technician
About the role
Lamar Advertising's Graphics plant in Baton Rouge, LA is hiring a 3D Technician to help bring life-size props (like trucks or giant crawfish) to life for billboards. This position assists the Senior 3D Technician(s) by operating two expanded polystyrene (EPS) CNC cutting and finish-coating machines. The 3D Technician works with the Senior 3D Technicians and at the direction of the Operations Manager.

Education and experience
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
- 1 year of operating CNC cutting and finish-coating machines preferred
- 1 year of painting or auto body experience preferred
- 1-2 years of Printing or Graphics Experience preferred
- Or some equivalent combination of education and experience
A day in the life
- Supports the Senior Technician(s) by painting and airbrushing completed 3D props
- Receive orders using Lamar's production control systems, and schedule orders
- Performing routine service and maintenance on the cutting mills
- Loading/unloading blocks of EPS, and sheets of coroplast based on shipping priorities
- Assuring size and shape correctness of EPS
- Materials handling such as safely operating forklifts, hoists, and finishing equipment
- Cleaning and shaping finished material and preparing for coating
- Work and understand the software used on the finishing machinery
- Inventory management: completing log sheets to record material usage
- Responsible for constructing digital backlit logos
- General housekeeping duties and ensuring a safe work area
Physical demands and work environment
The primary work environment is a shop. The physical demands include moderate lifting (up to 75 pounds), pushing, reaching, seeing (with a focus in reading, color distinction, acuity, depth perception, and peripheral vision), sitting less than 50% of the time, standing, stooping, talking, turning, walking, and climbing. Nights spent traveling for this position are less than 10%.
