About the role
FYZICAL Therapy and Balance Center is seeking a full-time Technician in Spring Hill, FL. The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a dynamic environment, be a team player, and possess the ability to multitask and communicate effectively.
Responsibilities
- Helps with patient scheduling
- Greets patients and walks them back to treatment area
- Assists with patient prep before treatment, transferring, transporting and positioning patients during and after treatment as needed
- Prepares treatment rooms for patients by following prescribed procedures and protocols
- Assists with treating patients by applying heat packs; paraffin dips; assisting patients into whirlpool; helping patients onto exercise equipment, monitoring motion; tracking walking time and distance; measuring mobility; performing prescribed exercises and strengthening techniques
- Provides information to patients by answering any questions, requests and discussing retail items most suitable for rehabilitation needs
- Educates patients by demonstrating proper use of equipment and exercise routines
- Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential
- Ensures operation of physical therapy equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instruction; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for or communicating repairs
- Maintains clinical supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies
- Organizes and cleans treatment areas
- Performs prescribed exercises and strengthening techniques requested by Physical Therapists
- Orders and arranges supplies as needed
- Changes patient linens and pillows as needed
Requirements
- Must be able to work well in both a team setting and independently
- Must have the ability to think on their feet and provide support in an efficient manner
- Must be able to multitask and communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization
- Must be able to assist Physical Therapists and Physical Therapist Assistants with the planning and implementation of patient care
- Must be able to assist with clerical duties and paperwork
- Must be able to assist with recording prescribed exercises, patient assessment, and treatment plans and goals
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in a healthcare setting preferred
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of physical therapy equipment and procedures
