Responsibilities
- Oversee the implementation and administration of the system 340B Drug Procurement program across multiple facilities.
- Ensure adherence to all legal requirements.
- Serve as the primary internal and external contact for all 340B related matters.
- Identify and implement performance improvement initiatives related to product acquisition and expense management.
- Oversee required 340B audits, including hospital, clinic, and contract pharmacy audits, both internal and independent.
- Track and report 340B savings.
- Prepare a 340B Impact Summary to document savings utilization.
- Chair the 340B Task Force.
- Participate in delivering outstanding customer service and maintaining respectful relationships.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align purchasing strategies with operational and clinical goals.
- Establish new accounts with pharmaceutical distributors and split billing software vendors to support purchasing operations.
- Maintain registrations and comply with 340B, Prime Vendor, Corporate, and GPO programs to maximize contract benefits and program eligibility.
- Secure the lowest possible costs through negotiation, competitive bidding, supplier agreements, and market analysis.
- Stay informed on legal and regulatory developments affecting purchasing policies and contractual obligations.
- Maximize rebate opportunities and monitor rebate performance to ensure optimal financial return.
- Track industry trends and advise leadership on emerging risks and opportunities relevant to pharmaceutical procurement.
- Identify and resolve pharmacy supply chain issues at the campus level, recommending improvements as needed.
- Facilitate pharmaceutical standardization and promote optimal utilization through cross-functional collaboration.
- Develop and maintain supplier relationships that support cost reduction, quality improvement, and long-term value.
- Uphold ethical purchasing practices and ensure fair vendor interactions in accordance with organizational policies.
- Support strategic sourcing by evaluating new products, systems, and suppliers that enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
Requirements
- Extensive knowledge of purchasing, inventory control, supply chain management, distribution, price/cost analysis and contract negotiations.
- Working knowledge of computer office applications, such as Word, Excel, etc.
- Skilled negotiator and collaborator.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree [Preferred]
- 3+ years hospital pharmacy purchasing experience
Skills
- Knowledge of purchasing, inventory control, supply chain management, distribution, price/cost analysis and contract negotiations.
- Working knowledge of computer office applications, such as Word, Excel, etc.
- Skilled negotiator and collaborator.
