About the Role

The Whey Operator is responsible for assisting the Whey Evaporator and Dryer Operator in the whey processing operation.

Responsibilities

• Operate and clean the AMVR Evaporator in automatic and manual modes
• Operate and clean the TFD and MSD spray dryers
• Perform lab work as required
• Recognize deficiencies in product
• Operate equipment in preparation for cream shipments
• Troubleshoot and solve any productions problem during operation
• Keep all records accurate and up to date
• Keep equipment and plant in condition that will meet all regulatory agency requirements
• All GLC employees are expected to perform any assignment or job task according to the stated safety policies and procedures
• All GLC employees are expected to produce our products in a manner that exceeds the quality and value expectation of our customers and consumers by adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices, Policies and Procedures outlined in our Safe Quality Food Program
• Other responsibilities as assigned by the manager

Pay

$25.80/hr - $26.45/hr. All offers will be based on a candidate's skills, prior relevant experience, applicable degrees and certifications, and internal equity. This range is specific to New York and may not be applicable to other locations.

4:00PM-4:00AM

Required Qualifications

• Ability to adapt to change quickly
• Ability to understand the basic operation of evaporator and dryer and be capable of making process adjustments to them
• Basic computer skills required

Preferred Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED
• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and related equipment
• Ability to make minor decisions based on standard practices
• Basic math skills to adjust process changes
• SAP experience

Working Conditions

• Ability to constantly stand/walk; bend/flex/extend neck; frequently grip/reach/lift/pull with L/R hands
• Ability to frequently handle material from floor-to-waist, waist-to-shoulder and pushing/pulling/carrying
• Product weight: up to 50 lbs
• Repetitive work in a fast-paced production environment with average temperature of 50-60 degrees F
