2nd Shift Warehouse Supervisor

About the role
Working within the limits of authority and within Company policies and procedures, directs the activities of the operation in areas of Trailer Load-Out, Production, Maintenance, and Quality Control. The Warehouse Supervisor maintains shipping and load-out activities safely within established policy and processes. This position occasionally covers for existing Supervisor vacations and scheduled days off and primarily works night shifts, including different days of the week.
Responsibilities
- Achieve established department goals for load-out, production volume, quality, safety, and cost reduction.
- Provide leadership and guidance to employees to foster development and a positive working atmosphere.
- Coordinate daily load-out to meet business objectives.
- Communicate non-compliances in a timely fashion to appropriate Managers for corrective action.
- Assist with SAP training programs to ensure effective adoption and utilization of SAP systems and processes.
- Maintain warehouse selection accuracy by managing, promoting, and directing the use of order selection technology (such as scanning or voice-to-pick systems).
- Communicate with department managers to maintain efficient operations.
- Assign job responsibilities to employees to meet planned shipping schedules, ensuring proper equipment and operating techniques are followed.
- Monitor changes in employee morale and work to resolve problems within departments.
- Maintain employee records such as time sheets, absences, tardy records, overtime, and safety as required.
- Ensure standard operating procedures for job functions are accurate and up to date.
- Maintain product/code rotation of Cooler inventory.
- Oversee assigned safety program and conduct accident investigations as needed.
- Manage Cooler employee job performance, including safety, orientation, training, and discipline.
- Assure compliance with employee relations policies and programs.
- Monitor and enforce all Company policies.
- Instruct and train present and future employees as needed.
- Coordinate with production and purchasing to monitor inventory control and variances of all shipping, packaging, and processing supplies.
- Coordinate load-out schedules, production runs, bills of lading, trailer inventories, and master sanitation schedules.
- Lead continuous improvement activities to enhance safety, reduce losses, improve performance, and lower costs.
Requirements
- High school diploma.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate people.
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate the performance of direct reports.
- Analytical thinking skills.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective time management.
- Enthusiasm, initiative, pride in work, and commitment to the organization and its mission.
- Proficiency in MS Windows, Word, and Excel.
- Strong human relations skills and ability to work well with others as a team member.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or Business discipline (preferred).
- Prior experience in Dairy/Food manufacturing and/or warehousing (preferred).
Pay
$70,000 - $85,000 a year. The salary range listed represents the good faith and reasonable minimum and maximum pay for this role at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors including experience, skills, training, knowledge, education, and overall qualifications. The posted salary range reflects just one component of the total rewards package, which may also include group health and/or dental insurance, retirement plan, wellness program, paid time off, and paid holidays.
