About the role

The Tube Laser Operator sets up and operates a laser cutting machine to cut metal tubes according to precise specifications, ensuring quality control, maintaining equipment, and following safety procedures for efficient and accurate production.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain tube laser-cutting machines to provide customers with high-quality parts.
  • Set up, load/unload, produce, and package laser-cut tube steel parts.
  • Cut a wide variety of customer parts in different sizes, shapes, and metal thicknesses.
  • Ensure finished parts meet Lou-Rich quality standards.
  • Maintain high efficiency, skill, and quality to help keep customer costs reasonable.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, with responsibilities subject to change.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED certificate.
  • One to two years of experience in laser device construction (may include work-study programs with actual working conditions).
  • Ability to accurately read drawings and specifications.
  • Fast learning ability.
  • Experience operating machinery or working with metal is preferred.

Training

  • Complete new-hire training syllabi (Human Resources, Safety, IFS - Timeclock, IFS - Navigation, ISO) within the first 60 days.
  • Follow the Assembly or Press Room Training Matrix (F4400-35 or -041).
  • Additional on-the-job training and follow-up as determined by the supervisor, evaluated at the 60-day review or as needed.

Pay

$20–$24 per hour.
