2nd Shift Laser Operator

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor Laser cutting machine ensuring quality parts are produced per production orders and engineering specifications.
• Performs necessary quality checks, records information, and performs general utility work to meet work schedule.
• Understands machine set-up, including program retrieval, proper gases, proper nozzles, and materials.
• Understands start-up and shut down for laser machines.
• Diagnose machining problems while performing jobs, making modifications as needed.
• Operate tape measure, calipers, and hand tools.
• Can perform laser cutting operations efficiently and effectively, per specifications.
• Check Quality of product machined and notify the supervisor of process issues.
• Operates and navigates in a Windows-based computer environment.
• Can program nesting software to maximize product/material usage.
• Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
• Perform operator maintenance and/or housekeeping per established schedules.
• Other duties as assigned, including the operation of other machines, sorting, reworking, de-nesting, assembly, welding, or processing of other parts as a manufacturing team member.

Requirements

• Dependable
• 1-3 years CNC experience in a production manufacturing environment
• Strong math skills
• Good attendance
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to work safely and efficiently
• Ability to work with close tolerances
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instruction and written processes

Qualifications

• Additional courses in CNC Laser set-up and operation
