**Job Title:** Tank Trailer Mechanic **Company:** Altom Transport **Location:** Pasadena, TX **Job Type:** Full-Time **Shift:** 2nd Shift **Benefits:** Competitive pay, shift differential, overtime opportunities, annual merit increases, tool allowance, boot allowance, employee referral bonuses, health insurance (Blue Cross Blue Shield), dental and vision coverage, HSA with employer contributions, supplemental life insurance, short-term and long-term disability, employee assistance program. **Responsibilities:** - Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain DOT cargo tank trailers. - Repair tanker components including valves, piping, pumps, vents, fittings, and loading/unloading systems. - Perform brake, suspension, wheel-end, ABS, and electrical repairs. - Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and DOT compliance inspections. - Troubleshoot trailer air systems, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems. - Perform welding and fabrication repairs as needed. - Complete maintenance documentation and inspection reports accurately. - Maintain compliance with DOT, PHMSA, and company safety standards. **Requirements:** - Minimum 2 years of tank trailer or trailer maintenance experience. - Knowledge of air brake systems, ABS systems, suspensions, wheel ends, and trailer electrical systems. - Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues. - Valid driver’s license. - Own basic mechanic hand tools. - Ability to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces. - Must pass pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check. - Authorized to work in the United States. **Preferred Qualifications:** - HM183 Registered Inspector certification. - Experience with DOT 406, 407, 412, MC306, MC307, and MC312 cargo tanks. - Current V, I, P, L, T, or U inspection qualifications. - Welding and fabrication experience. - Class A or Class B CDLASE certifications. - Hazmat endorsement. - Experience working for a tanker carrier, tank repair facility, or petrochemical transportation company. **About Altom Transport:** Altom Transport is a third-generation, family-owned liquid bulk carrier operating throughout the United States and Canada.
