Primary Responsibilities
- Facilitate employee compliance with safety, quality, productivity policies, programs, and procedures.
- Manage the availability of labor against the plan and work with colleagues to optimize labor across the Manufacturing functions.
- Assign, supervise, motivate, and evaluate behavior and performance of employees.
- Coordinate with management the scheduling of production.
- Confer with Project Managers and/or other team members to ensure established schedules maintain accuracy; re-establish the schedule as necessary.
- Direct and coordinate the activities of team members engaged in the production or processing of goods.
- Monitor and ensure proper levels of materials and hardware are maintained and accounted for to support manufacturing functions.
- Ensure quality standards are being met.
- Ensure preventative maintenance on machinery is being performed and offer recommendations for repair and/or replacement of machinery when needed.
- Ensure team member training for proper equipment use and overall workplace safety.
- Ensure a clean and safe work environment is maintained.
- Continually look for opportunities to maximize productivity and improve processes and safety.
- Achieve manufacturing KPIs by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and issuing corrective employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
- Develop and recommend improvements in facilities, equipment, or procedures to improve safety, quality, and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of supervisor's experience preferred.
- 3-5 years working within the cabinet industry or specializing in wood products.
- Experience in planning, coordinating, and supervising personnel and production operations is required.
- Detail oriented, proficient with basic math and able to work in team environment required.
- Ability to work without supervision and to make appropriate decisions.
- Ability to process work with accuracy and to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills to actively listen to stakeholders and clearly verbalize ideas and action plans.
- Experience in computer applications, including Microsoft Office.
Work Environment
- This is an on-site role requiring daily interaction with employees and managers.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 45 pounds at times.
- Must be able to access and navigate each department at Merric.
