2nd Shift Shipping/Material Handler

About the role

This is a regular, full-time permanent position working onsite in North Manchester, IN.

Responsibilities

• Move master rolls, in-process rolls, and finished goods within the plant using a clamp truck.
• Stage rolls on pallets as necessary.
• Obtain production schedules or shipping orders and transport material or equipment to designated areas.
• Identify various types of raw materials, in-process or finished products, equipment, or processing materials.
• Check identification of materials, cross-reference with production or shipping schedules, and move to required locations.
• Report inconsistencies or problems to supervisor.
• Ensure prompt delivery of required items to proper destinations to prevent equipment shutdowns due to lack of supply.
• Use snips to open loads, remove strapping and wrapping, and dispose of safely in designated containers or areas.
• Place protective materials around loads and secure them using hand or automatic strapping equipment for handling, storage, or shipment.
• Remove and stack empty skids in designated areas.
• Maintain trucks by changing propane tanks or batteries, oil, and water, and report mechanical or electrical issues to the truck garage mechanic.
• Operate fork trucks and assist in various production areas.

Requirements

• Attention to detail in the workplace.
• Able to lift 50 lbs. or more.
• Available for overtime, including before and after shifts and weekends.
• Organized and able to read and follow instructions.
• High degree of attention required to prevent injury to others.
• Certified fork truck and clamp truck operator.
• Good communication skills.
