2nd Shift Sanitation Worker

This position reports directly to the Project Manager and is a member of a cleaning crew responsible for cleaning and sanitizing food processing plants to meet Quality Control and Bacterial Standards imposed by customers and governmental agencies such as the FDA.
About the role
- Work during late evenings, nights, or early mornings between production shifts (specific shift determined by supervisor)
- Possible overtime, including weekends, days, and evenings
- Work in a wet, humid environment with extreme temperature changes (hot to very cold)
- Work around large processing equipment using chemicals for sanitation
- Primarily stand and walk for the duration of the shift; infrequently sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch
- Infrequently lift up to 50 pounds
- Work hours: 5:00 PM to 1:30 AM
Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize all equipment to prepare the plant for production
- Perform machinery preventive maintenance, including parts checks and greasing
- Minor disassembly and re-assembly of certain equipment
- Remove garbage from the facility
- Perform sanitation verification on equipment and required areas
- Record all relevant logs and documentation accurately
- Inspect equipment and machinery
- Frequently lift and move hoses, equipment, and chemical containers weighing 20-80 lbs throughout the shift
- Assist in transporting heavy equipment using forklifts or other devices
- Wear employer-specified protective gear (gloves, face/eye shields, aprons, boots, etc.)
- Utilize chemical cleaning solutions while wearing protective gear
- Perform tasks requiring standing, lifting, and crouching for long periods
- Perform all tasks safely and in accordance with company safety protocols

Requirements

- Basic English comprehension
- Flexible availability and capacity to work overtime as needed
- Prior experience in a food environment is a plus
- Able to perform essential job requirements, including lifting and moving 43 lbs
