About the role
This Production Supervisor role provides leadership and direction to production associates in a food manufacturing plant, with a focus on safety, quality, and productivity. The company is a food manufacturer that is part of a larger portfolio of brands, with growth underway across the organization. This position reports within the plant's production department and coordinates closely with safety, quality, maintenance, and warehouse teams.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate daily startup, routine production, and changeover processes for assigned lines
- Schedule personnel including training, call outs, and temporary employees
- Coordinate reprocess activities and maintain related records
- Collect and verify downtime worksheets and daily production reports
- Manage production checklists
- Verify production numbers with the warehouse
- Implement the production plan and schedule for the shift
- Manage indirect material inventory to keep production supplied
- Follow up with Quality Control on hold situations
- Help implement new procedures to prevent recurring issues
- Manage recovery and rework of any non-conforming product delivered to the warehouse
- Implement corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives as directed
- Maintain GMP compliance at all times
- Participate in assigned projects
- Ensure accuracy of employee documentation while supporting the plant's safety initiatives and objectives
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Management, Business Administration, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of progressive manufacturing experience
- Demonstrated ability to problem solve, perform root cause analysis, and make timely, informed decisions
- Demonstrated ability to supervise, lead, and build relationships at all levels within the company
- Ability to understand and execute cost containment programs and budgets
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work all shifts as needed
- Strong time management, prioritization, and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
- Manufacturing experience in the food industry
- Experience coaching or developing team members
Pay
$90,000 to $100,000 per year
