About the role
As Production Supervisor at our Clinton, IL plant, you will oversee multiple activities simultaneously, take ownership of team output, and maintain a high standard of safety, quality, and productivity. You will manage departments to achieve plant goals while exhibiting strong working knowledge of all machinery, equipment, and processes.
Responsibilities
- Ensure employees follow all safety procedures and protocols, serve on safety committees, and complete regular safety audits
- Manage daily production operations of heavy industrial products for assigned work group
- Set production schedules based on production introduction, equipment efficiency, and quality metrics
- Coach employees on work quality and quantity, such as fit-up and welding processes, ensuring goals are met and solving issues as they arise
- Ensure the production of sufficient quantities of quality products at or below budgeted production cost
- Assist in continuous improvement activities to improve the movement of materials through various production processes
- Manage hourly employees, monitor and approve time sheets and work logs
- Assign employees to workstations and ensure proper training is completed
- Manage all aspects of fit-up and welding processes for assigned work groups and production bays, ensuring strict adherence to production policies and procedures
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (any discipline) preferred
- 5+ years of successful leadership experience in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment
- Experience in a metal fabrication or welding facility, specifically with flux and metal core welding is highly preferred
- Thorough knowledge of blueprints and layouts, preferably related to transmission poles
- High degree of dependability, maturity, and strong leadership characteristics
- Regular and predictable attendance, a great attitude, and ability to work well with a team
- Availability to work 2nd Shift: 6:00pm–4:30am

Pay
$62,000 to $80,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
