About the Role
In the production plant, the Production Maintenance Technician performs a variety of general facility maintenance tasks. The role involves troubleshooting failures, repairing, disassembling, and troubleshooting complex equipment in charge of production processes. The environment is operational 24/7, requiring flexibility in shifts.
Responsibilities
- Provide support to production lines by troubleshooting failures and making necessary repairs to production and facility equipment.
- Complete all assigned work orders and preventative maintenance tasks through SAP.
- Participate in rebuilds and overhauls on production line and support equipment.
- Aid with parts management by ensuring parts are checked out of stock and communicating any deficiencies to the Parts Planner.
- Communicate consistently with fellow maintenance staff through End of Shift reports.
- Support the Swire Manufacturing Continuous Improvement (SMCI) process by participating in established routines with production operators and following up on top causes of downtime.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Operate with technical skill the SAP Computerized Maintenance Management system.
- Operate and monitor equipment and replenish materials as needed.
- Quality reviews of equipment assigned to maintain safety and performance standards.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent degree/certificate.
- Trade School certification preferred.
- 2+ years of maintenance experience.
- Excellent mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read schematics.
- Welding and Fabrication experience.
- Experience working with Allen Bradley and Siemens PLC systems.
- Ability to learn new software and interfaces quickly.
- Strong computer skills.
- Carpentry, Electrical, HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning), Plumbing, Welding, Fabrication, docks and doors, security systems.
- Knowledge of manufacturing, production operators, and industrial technology preferred.
- Ability to work weekends and holidays as directed by the business.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
