2nd Shift PM Technician

About the role

Groot, Inc., a Waste Connections company, has an immediate opening for a 2nd Shift PM Technician in Elgin, IL. The PM Mechanic will work directly with the Maintenance Manager to ensure safe diagnostics and repair of our truck fleet and equipment. Responsibilities

• Performs repairs (including electrical and hydraulic systems) and assigned preventive maintenance services.
• Utilizes vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs.
• Conducts safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
• Completes required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
• Reviews and completes repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
• Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.

Requirements

• Valid Class A or B CDL with clean driving record.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions.
• Ability to lift at least 50lbs repeatedly.

Pay

$28.00/hr plus $1/hr shift differential, with approximately 5-10 hours of overtime weekly (overtime is time and a half after 40). Safety bonuses are also available.

Schedule

2:00 PM – until close Monday-Thursday, Friday is 12:00 PM until 8:30 PM with overtime as needed, plus rotating Saturdays (6:00 AM – 11:00 AM).
