Responsibilities

• Plans and directs proper layout information for all products using customer required reporting formats.
• Operates and maintains lab and equipment including CMM, gauge certifications, and hand tool calibrations (calipers, micrometers, scales, and other measurable tools).
• Conducts process capability studies and other scientific methods to verify industrial processes, material, and products.
• Understands and can explain the company's Quality Policy.
• Understands job description and required tasks, and how this position impacts customer satisfaction and contributes to fulfilling the Quality Policy.
• Understands the overview of Quality Management System and document architecture.
• Explains all relevant quality policies, procedures, and work instructions associated with this job description.
• Identifies Quality Management System and implementation non-conformances, documents and/or logs all non-conformity.
• Participates in preventative and corrective actions, performs problem-solving analysis and reporting as required.
• Conducts housekeeping for personal work area and shared facility space.
• Observes and complies with all safety, environmental, regulatory, and statutory requirements.
• Participates in needs analysis and attends scheduled training and educational programs.
• Participates in independent objective auditing activities and supports company continuous improvement activities.
• Stops work on processes as appropriate and contains suspect or defective material or services.
• Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation.
• Devises sampling procedures and designs forms for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.
• Establishes program to evaluate precision and accuracy of production equipment and testing, measurement, and analytical equipment.
• Develops and implements methods for disposition of discrepant material and assesses cost and responsibility.
• Conducts part and check fixture certifications and re-certification as required.
• Performs all tasks required by customer self-certification programs (e.g., GP-7, Match Check, GP-3, GP-8 certification).
• Maintains housekeeping of CMM lab and reports any equipment problems.
• Responsible for part and check fixture layout with written data supporting PPAP submission.
• Maintains and updates part layout history files.

Requirements

• Associate’s Degree required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• One to two years of related experience and/or training.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English at a level sufficient to safely and effectively perform job duties.

Skills

• Basic GD&T training.
• Basic understanding of PCDMIS.
• Basic understanding of PolyWorks.
• Knowledge of Romer Scanning.
• Communication skills.
• Microsoft Office proficiency.

Schedule

This is a 2nd shift position, Monday through Friday, 1:30 PM to 9:30 PM.

Location

This position is located at our plant in Spartanburg, SC.
