Job Overview

Amazon Robotics is seeking a skilled Industrial maintenance technician to oversee the installation and maintenance of our industrial equipment. As an industrial maintenance technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our machinery and mechanical equipment. This will include installing new equipment, performing regular services and maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting equipment breakdowns.

Key job responsibilities

  • Keep a facility operating and repair any problems before they worsen.
  • Perform a wide range of repair tasks around a facility, including:
    • Install new equipment and understand technical manuals, read blueprints, and purchase replacement parts.
    • Servicing and maintaining equipment such as motors, conveyor systems, transmission systems, and production-related equipment.
    • Disassemble/reassemble equipment such as gearboxes, cylinders, pumps, valves, etc., and repair/replace worn or defective parts.
    • Troubleshoot PLC systems and other control systems, and install wiring systems for power and control.
    • Troubleshoot, install, and repair AC/DC motors, starters, relays, and drives.
    • Inspect and assess the functionality of production machines.
    • Troubleshoot and repair all standard electrical components and detect minor equipment problems.
    • Adjust mechanical parts using hand and machine tools.
    • Fabricate parts for repairs and machine upgrades.
    • Perform preventive maintenance per planned schedules, clean and lubricate machinery, inspect equipment operating conditions, identify root causes of equipment problems.
    • Communicate with the production team and maintain a clean work area.
    • Prepare and submit maintenance reports.
    • Develop and implement preventative maintenance procedures.
    • Help develop and implement the budget for the maintenance department.
    • Maintain the inventory records for equipment and supplies.
    • Fix potential safety hazards to avoid injuries.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience using English communication skills, both written and verbal, to foster seamless interaction with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Can carry/lift up to 50 lbs, stand/walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach.
  • Experience in high-volume manufacturing environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of automated material handling systems, packaging technologies, and storage solutions.
  • Strong attention to safety and ability to follow detailed procedures.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement principles & techniques.
  • Experience in computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities.
  • Experience with manufacturing systems such as Tulip, Oracle, or MES preferred.

Pay and Benefits

The starting pay for this position is listed below including the base pay rate plus the highest available shift differential which applies depending on the shift you select. As a total compensation company, you are eligible for additional earnings including overtime pay and performance bonuses. Final pay will be based on factors including shift selection and location.
