Summary

As a Maintenance Technician II, you will perform more complex maintenance and repair tasks, operate machines, assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment, and collaborate with team members to develop maintenance strategies.

Essential Functions

  • All essential functions of a Maintenance Technician I.
  • Possess intermediate knowledge and skills in maintenance and repair tasks.
  • Independently troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions.
  • Perform complex repairs and adjustments to machinery and equipment.
  • Conduct electrical and mechanical tests to identify problems and ensure proper functioning.
  • Absorb and apply basic math skills to solve practical problems.
  • Operate a computer proficiently; use spreadsheets and reporting software effectively.
  • Team player with the ability to work independently.
  • Wear/use required PPE and understand written instructions.
  • Use a logical approach to troubleshooting issues and prioritize production needs.
  • Recognize problems when they occur and work toward their solutions.
  • Pay attention to details and pursue quality in work.
  • Handle challenges skillfully, thoroughly, and effectively.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with co-workers, team members, and customers.
  • Independently take advantage of opportunities to improve or increase skills, abilities, and job knowledge.
  • Deliver work on time and of high quality.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

An individual qualified for this job must be able to: - Demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude and learn to perform simple maintenance tasks. - Accurately multiply, divide, add, and subtract whole numbers to resolve practical problems. - Operate a computer proficiently; use spreadsheets and reporting software effectively. - Team player with the ability to work independently. - Wear/use required PPE and understand written instruction. - Use a logical approach to troubleshooting issues and prioritizing production needs. - Recognize problems when they occur and work toward the solution of those problems. - Pay attention to details and pursue quality in accomplishing work duties and tasks. - Handle challenges skillfully, thoroughly, and effectively. - Effectively and professionally communicate with co-workers, team members, and internal/external customers. - Independently take advantage of opportunities to improve or increase skills, abilities, and job knowledge. - Make sure that work is delivered on time and of high quality. - Develop good work practices in order to get the job done. - Use equipment, resources, and time in an efficient and effective manner. - Use good judgment when making decisions. - Perform work in a safe manner at all times. - Work in a cooperative manner with management, co-workers, internal/external customers, and vendors.

Minimum Experience, Education, and Certifications

An individual qualified for this job must have and maintain the following qualifications: - In addition to Maintenance Technician I qualifications: - 5+ years experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. - Pipe fitting, pump repair, and plumbing repair experience. - Mechanical knowledge of conveyors and material transfer equipment. - Experience with preventative maintenance programs. - Experience with packaging equipment (case erectors, case sealers, palletizers). - Basic electrical knowledge with 110/220/480 volt power. - General experience with building maintenance. - Experience with Liquid fill equipment.

Physical Demands of Essential Functions

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the Essential Functions of this job. - Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. - Ability to occasionally climb stairs to retrieve stock items. - Ability to work in a non-climate controlled environment. - Repetitive grasping with hands. - Walking and/or standing up to 10-12 hours per day, 6 days per week if applicable. - Frequent pushing, pulling, and reaching following recommended standards.

Environmental Conditions

The individual will be expected to work in a manufacturing plant environment, which may include being exposed to work in high, precarious, and confined spaces, outdoor weather conditions, work near moving mechanical parts, and extreme heat. Typical noise level is loud. The individual may be exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.
