2nd Shift Maintenance Technician II

About the role

The Maintenance Technician II will be responsible for performing complex maintenance tasks, troubleshooting equipment issues, and ensuring the efficient operation of our manufacturing machinery. This will require a strong mechanical aptitude, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. This full-time position reports directly to the Manager Maintenance and is located at our Omaha, NE, manufacturing facility.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment and machinery.
• Troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent equipment failures and downtime.
• Assist in the installation, setup, and calibration of new equipment.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, including work orders, parts usage, and equipment history.
• Train and mentor junior technicians as needed.
• Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED equivalent from accredited institution.
• 3+ years of experience as a maintenance tech/mechanic in manufacturing environment AND/OR satisfactory completion of level II requirements from the LDI Maintenance Training Program.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency in troubleshooting complex equipment issues.
• Solid understanding of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Understanding of Programmable Logic Controllers.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
• Good communication skills.
• Must be available to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Physical requirements: Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds; work in hot, humid, and cold manufacturing environment; work in crowded spaces for 4+ hours per shift; bend and stoop for 7+ hours per shift; stand for 6+ hours per shift; walk for 6+ hours per shift; reach and grasp for 6+ hours per shift.

Qualifications

• 2+ year technical degree in Maintenance related field
• Experience within the corrugated industry
• Experience with operational excellence or continuous improvement programs – Lean 6 Sigma, Kaizen Events

Pay

The starting pay rate for this position is $27.00 per hour plus hourly shift differential pay. Compensation may vary based on education, certifications, skills, experience, or work location; some positions may qualify for additional bonuses.
