2nd Shift Maintenance Technician

Assigned level (I, II, III, or IV) depends on experience, qualifications, and work history.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to production requests for immediate attention to production line issues and problems.
  • Maintain production equipment and records of preventative maintenance.
  • Create requisitions of parts and supplies to maintain equipment.
  • Maintain electrical/electronic systems and general production line equipment.
  • Identify problem areas and address with permanent solutions.
  • Adhere to safety policies, procedures, and Good Manufacturing Practices in the Safe Quality Food Program.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the manager.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school and/or commensurate experience.
  • 3+ years of maintenance experience and/or training.
  • Advanced understanding of manufacturing processes and production machinery.
  • Ability to make decisions based on standard practices, troubleshoot, and problem solve.
  • Advanced electrical knowledge/training and ability to weld (TIG, MIG, and Stick).
  • Advanced understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot PLC systems and read schematics, pneumatic, electrical, and hydraulic drawings.
  • Familiarity with OSHA requirements and basic computer skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of maintenance experience and/or training.
  • Extensive understanding of manufacturing processes.
  • Extensive electrical knowledge/training and mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

Working Conditions

  • Constant standing/walking, bending, flexing, and extending neck.
  • Frequent gripping, reaching, lifting, pulling, and handling material from floor-to-waist or waist-to-shoulder.
  • Pushing, pulling, and carrying up to 50 lbs.
  • Repetitive work in a fast-paced production environment with average temperature of 50-60°F.
