About the Role
The General Labor Maintenance Associate will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our farm equipment and vehicles. This role requires a skilled and productive individual who will be responsible for the maintenance of a diverse fleet, including but not limited to farm tractors, spray wagons, golf carts, forklifts, farm vehicles, and various small engine equipment.
Responsibilities
- Perform service and repairs on tractors, sprayer equipment, golf carts, and forklifts to ensure optimal functionality.
- Utilize our work order app proficiently to efficiently assign and complete maintenance tasks.
- Conduct periodic inspections of all farm equipment to identify and address any potential issues promptly.
- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures while working with machinery and equipment.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure that all maintenance activities are completed according to schedule and quality standards.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Demonstrated proficiency with over 5 years of experience as a mechanic.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment.
- Familiarity with standard, essential hand tools used in the trade.
- Self-driven individual with a solid work ethic and commitment to quality.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
- In-depth knowledge of small diesel engines.
- Experience in working on farm tractors.
- 12-volt electrical troubleshooting/repair experience.
Job Setting & Physical Demands
This position is primarily outdoors but may require working between locations and within an indoor office environment for administrative duties, which may include the use of computers and standard office equipment.
- Fluency to read, write, and understand the English language is required.
- Must be able to work in all outdoor elements, including various weather conditions and with dust and allergens.
- Requires long-term (up to 8+ hours/day) ability for walking, standing, sitting, squatting, bending, reaching, and twisting on a regular basis to fulfill essential duties.
- Requires utilization of fine motor skills, including but not limited to pinching, squeezing, and pulling.
- Must have the ability to operate all machinery necessary within the department and across the facility, including obtaining required certifications to operate such equipment, as necessary.
- Must have the ability to work at heights over 6 feet.
- Must be able to utilize and communicate through a cellular or radio-like device.
- Must be able to work evenings and weekends as business needs arise and during peak seasons.
- Must have the ability to lift 50 pounds unaided, and regularly lift up to 100 pounds with assistance.
