Duties
- Set up and operation of CNC machine and basic machine parameters.
- Use CAM nesting, ToPs and other software on machine.
- Perform “First Piece Article” inspections and document part dimensions per engineering drawings and specifications.
- Input time, material, quantity produced into ERP software.
- Understand Company quality program.
- Material identification to facilitate selecting and transporting from storage to machine, properly identify left over raw material for return to inventory location and proper disposal of scrap.
- Perform and document routine maintenance on machine as directed.
- Keep machines and work area clean, neat, and orderly.
- Runs secondary operations on other machines when required or time allows.
- De-tab and de-burr parts with grinders and sander.
- Reports any discrepancies to immediate supervisor.
Skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as engineering drawings, specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to use and care for precision measuring equipment and tools such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and other tools and gauges.
- Knowledge of both metric and inch measuring systems.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Knowledge of manufacturing ERP software, Windows software and CNC software and NC code.
- Operate a lift truck (license).
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Requirements
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; reach overhead with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, exposed to fumes and/or airborne particles, and a noise level that is usually loud.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- The employee must be able to hear and speak clearly.
