Job Summary
About the role
The Inventory Equipment Operator is responsible for inventory accuracy, documentation, assisting in counts and audits, tracking inventory adjustments and approvals, and creating timely reports for management.
Responsibilities
- Run inventory reports, organize data, and print count sheets for physical inventory counts.
- Perform physical inventory counts, confirm inventory accuracy, research inventory discrepancies, coordinate with the team to locate inventory, and suggest corrective action.
- Absorb excess material into inventory and record it in the warehouse management system.
- Track and enter inventory count data, including root cause information into the appropriate spreadsheet for reporting purposes.
- Report inventory discrepancies to leadership for approval and track to ensure inventory adjustments are completed promptly.
- Prepare and distribute weekly/monthly inventory reports as required.
- Work with Receiving and Warehouse staff, Purchasing, Accounting, and Production departments to resolve inventory discrepancies and billing issues.
- Strive to reduce waste, recycle products whenever possible, and reuse resources when practical.
- Provide daily feedback briefs to the Operations Manager on any inventory issues interrupting production or affecting the customer.
- Assist with daily logistics tasks, including setting up freight, functions of receiving, and answering customer requests. Support the supply management team by cross-training to provide backup support for other logistic tasks.
- Assist the financial auditors and the warehouse team with annual inventory audits.
- Ability to efficiently operate a turret, forklift, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment.
- Keep personal work areas clean, neat & organized.
Requirements
- Minimum of one year experience in a logistics, manufacturing, warehouse, or production environment.
- Experience in warehouse inventory a plus.
- High school diploma.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-speed environment, follow standardized work, and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment.
- Experience and competence with MS Office Products including Teams, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Ability to learn and understand new software programs.
- Experience with Sage X3 a plus.
- Ability to use a pallet jack, forklift, and turret a plus.
