About the role
Industrial Maintenance Technicians ensure optimal efficiency by performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, prioritizing safety and quality. This role requires a technical mindset, strong mechanical capabilities, and flexibility to rotate job assignments throughout the bakery. Ongoing training is essential due to evolving technology and performance standards.
Physical requirements include the ability to climb fixed and portable ladders up to 20 feet, stoop and bend while lifting up to 50 pounds, and climb onto and under machinery.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate safe work habits, proper tool selection and usage, general shop practices, and maintenance tasks.
- Apply knowledge of electrical welding, gas welding, cutting, soldering, pipe fittings, and metal fabrication (milling and lathe).
- Identify and inspect mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components.
- Rebuild mechanical drive components such as clutches and brakes.
- Verify and correct mechanical timing.
- Perform proper component lubrication and conduct preventive maintenance on specific equipment.
- Identify mechanical wear and troubleshoot/replace mechanical drive and conveyor components.
- Use SAP software for parts checkout, reporting, and general data entry.
- Apply knowledge of environmental and maintenance programs.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Comply with all Company policies and procedures (e.g., safety, Sarbanes Oxley).
- Perform other duties as assigned by management, including adherence to work schedules and attendance policies.
- Possess or attain licenses required for working with boilers, refrigeration components, and other job-related equipment.
Requirements
- Physically capable of rapid, unimpeded movement throughout the plant.
- Able to climb fixed and portable ladders, crawl under and onto machinery, and enter/exit confined spaces.
- Ability to use tools as required and carry a tool pouch weighing up to 15 pounds.
- Ability to lift and hold up to 50 pounds from floor level to 48 inches.
- Dexterity in fingers, arms, and hands for complex wiring, welding, and written communication.
- High school diploma or GED plus a minimum of 2 years of vocational/technical training or equivalent work experience in electronic/electrical technology and machine maintenance.
Qualifications
- Three or more years of experience as a Maintenance Technician and/or formal training or experience.
- Experience in electronics, electrical repairs, industrial equipment installations, alignment, start-up repairs, part fabrication, welding, HVAC, etc.
