About the role

Our history dates back to 1905, when we began producing castings in Elyria, Ohio, for the machine tool, gas engine, and other industries. Our Hodge Foundry location started in 1876 and gained a reputation for quality casting from its Greenville, Pennsylvania location. In 2008, the two foundries merged to form Elyria Foundry, a fast-paced, technically advanced, customer-focused operation.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assemble, install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring and mechanical related equipment and fixtures in accordance with code compliance using hand and power tools
  • Diagnose and repair malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment
  • Inspect electrical systems to identify hazards, defects for adjustment and repair
  • Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures using ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes to ensure compatibility and safety of systems
  • Troubleshoot for proper mechanical operation of equipment and ensure safety systems, guarding, handrails, etc. are in place and functional
  • Preventative Maintenance
  • Downtime prevention
  • Communicate across various levels of the organization to achieve departmental goals
  • Collaborate with manufacturing team to ensure production conformity
  • Ability to work overtime as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities

  • At least 5-10 years of industrial manufacturing knowledge: machines and tools, including their design, uses, and repair/maintenance
  • Industrial manufacturing knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved to make equipment repairs, including the ability to use either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate machines or processes
  • Heavy manufacturing experience required
  • Mechanical and Electrical aptitude
  • Willingness to jump in and learn
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Journeymen Certificate or equivalent preferred
  • OSHA ARC Flash Training preferred

Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • Handle moving objects: Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials
  • The ability to see details at close and distant range with depth perception and the ability to see colors
  • Perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs, such as: climbing, crawling, lifting, balancing, walking, squatting, stooping, bending, twisting, and handling materials
  • Indoor and outdoor climate conditions during all seasons and in varying temperatures
  • Ability to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs

Pay

Hourly, non-exempt.

Schedule

2nd shift (1:30pm - 10pm)
