Job Responsibilities
- Cook with Production Supervisor(s) on production order add-ons, product change overs, and tie outs.
- Read blend sheets and follow instructions given on the blend sheets to standardize the blender.
- Able to properly scan ingredients into the in-process or blend sheet.
- Record the correct batch numbers on the blend sheet if ingredients are not scanned onto the sheet.
- Follow production orders for groups.
- Ensure sample cups are near the blenders.
- Scrape any mold found on cheese and deposit it into detained product tubs.
- Weigh and record fish bait on fish bait recording sheets.
- Use non-cheese ingredients in proper rotation - First In First Out.
- Able to use hand-held devices to look up the oldest ingredient batches.
- Able to use the inventory report (LX02) to look up the oldest ingredient batches or hand-held device.
- Label any unused ingredients with their description and/or batch number and return them to proper storage (cooler or dry ingredient) once finished with the ingredient.
- Collect blender samples for Lab/Quality Assurance analysis.
- The sample includes: fat sample, blender moisture sample, and any additional samples required by the lab.
- Keep the work area neat and dispose of empty powder bags, cardboard, plastic, and any work debris.
- Clean up powder spills from blenders and powder room.
- Keep the floor swept around the grinders.
- Verify group sheets for accuracy of cheese scanned to groups to ensure an accurate inventory.
- Absorb necessary ingredients for use.
- Unplug the grinder when unplugged.
- Assist with the training of new employees when requested by the supervisor.
- Complete all paperwork thoroughly and accurately.
- Sanitize lines at startup.
- Inspect the grinder screen at the beginning of each shift.
Required Education and Experience
- Ability to operate hand-held computer, personal computer, and computer screen control panels.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to analyze and solve problems.
- Ability to work cooperatively with coworkers and management.
- Good mathematical skills.
- Good communication skills: verbal and written.
- Ability to use hand-held scanners.
- Basic computer & SAP skills.
Preferred Education and Experience
- High School diploma or GED.
- Ability to operate powder control systems.
- Ability to operate various Powdered Industrial Trucks.
