About the Role
Fill completed batches into appropriate containers or onto tankers for shipping purposes, following procedures for different fill-off methods as indicated on batch tickets. Seal and apply appropriate labeling to containers. Move finished goods to the warehouse for shipping.
Responsibilities
- Locate the appropriate vat to be filled off per batch ticket instructions.
- Pre-mix material in the vat before filling.
- Locate and prepare necessary materials (containers, strainers, equipment, etc.) as indicated by batch tickets and fill-off manuals.
- Always bond and ground containers before filling.
- Obtain and label retains as directed by the QC department.
- Complete fill-off procedures accurately.
- Clean vats and equipment using appropriate cleaning solutions indicated on batch tickets.
- Make proper notations on batch tickets regarding fill-off procedures.
- Apply appropriate labeling as instructed on batch tickets.
- Move finished goods to the warehouse if necessary.
- Maintain a neat and orderly work area.
Qualifications
- Basic reading and comprehension skills.
- Basic math skills.
- Basic machine operation capabilities.
- Ability to determine the correctness of filling procedures in relation to specified guidelines learned during training.
Physical Demands
- Stand and use hands to grasp, handle, or feel for the entire shift.
- Walk, bend, stoop, and talk or hear.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with appropriate equipment.
- Read and comprehend written instructions.
- Remember processes and procedures for safe and accurate completion of duties throughout the shift.
Work Environment
The work environment is typical of a paint manufacturing facility. Exposure to solvent vapors is well below OSHA permissible limits, and adequate personal protective equipment is provided when required.
