Responsibilities

  • Directs and supervises all employees assigned to the department.
  • Trains employees in new processes and procedures.
  • Plans, assigns, and directs work activities.
  • Applies performance evaluations and provides feedback.
  • Manages conflicts and resolves issues.
  • Coaches and leads employees to improve performance.
  • Addresses complaints and resolves problems.
  • Documents employee performance and actions.
  • Models professional behavior, attitude, and performance.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Five years of manufacturing experience.
  • Strong, proven leadership qualities.
  • Ability to read and understand English.
  • Mathematical skills to calculate figures and amounts.
  • Reasoning skills to apply common sense understanding.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes including managing inventory and ordering as needed.
  • Physical demands include standing, walking, talking, hearing, using hands and fingers, reaching, stopping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, sitting, lifting up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lifting up to 100 pounds.
  • Work environment includes exposure to moving mechanical parts, wet and/or humid conditions, high or low precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, vibration, and noise levels in the production area.
  • Leadership attributes include superior time management skills, teaching skills, crisis management skills, employee relations skills, demonstrated confidence, and consistent leadership style with professional assertiveness.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience: Five years of manufacturing experience.
  • Corrugated packaging experience is a plus.
  • Strong leadership qualities.

Skills

  • Microsoft Office products and software for tracking starch usage and updating quality related data for food safety compliance.
