What You'll Do
- Lead and develop a team of CNC machinists and operators on second shift
- Perform complex CNC setups on mills and lathes
- Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and programming issues
- Optimize cycle times, tooling, feeds, speeds, and workholding
- Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and engineering drawings
- Edit CNC programs at the machine when needed
- Cook up daily production schedules and workflow
- Ensure parts meet customer specifications and quality standards
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement
- Coach employees and help develop the next generation of machinists
Qualifications
- 710+ years of CNC machining experience
- Previous experience leading machinists or manufacturing teams
- Advanced CNC setup and troubleshooting skills
- Strong blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge
- Experience with CNC mills and lathes
- Ability to edit CNC programs at the machine
- Experience using precision measuring equipment
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Leverage lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience (a plus)
