2nd Shift CNC Machinist

About the role

Programs, sets up, and operates CNC machinery to manufacture complex precision parts for drilling and geotechnical equipment, ensuring dimensional accuracy and quality.

Responsibilities

• Program CNC machines using G-code and/or CAM software
• Perform complex setups, including fixturing, tooling selection, and offsets
• Machine close-tolerance parts from steel, aluminum, and specialty alloys
• Inspect finished parts to blueprint specifications
• Troubleshoot machining issues and implement corrective actions
• Mentor CNC Operators and Assistants
• Maintain accurate production and inspection records

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• 3+ years CNC machining experience
• Proficiency in G-code programming
• Ability to work to tight tolerances (±0.001")

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Manufacturing Technology (preferred)
• CAM software experience (Mastercam, Fusion 360) (preferred)
• Experience machining drill rods or downhole tools (preferred)

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

• Prolonged standing
• Lifting up to 50 lbs
• Exposure to cutting fluids, metal dust, and noise
• Required PPE at all times
