About the Role
As the 2nd Shift CNC Machinist, you will join our Durex Industries team and support the production of quality parts using Haas CNC milling machines. Responsibilities
- Operate Haas CNC milling machines safely and efficiently to produce quality parts according to specifications.
- Load and unload raw materials and finished parts while ensuring proper machine operation and workflow.
- Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and production drawings to understand part requirements.
- Perform basic machine setups, including installing tooling, fixtures, and workholding as required.
- Make minor tool and offset adjustments to maintain part quality and dimensional accuracy.
- Monitor machining operations and inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measuring equipment.
- Identify and report machining, tooling, or quality issues and assist with basic troubleshooting.
- Follow established CNC programs and make routine adjustments within approved parameters.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all company safety and quality procedures.
- Complete required production and inspection documentation accurately.
- Perform routine machine maintenance, such as cleaning, lubrication, chip removal, and basic machine checks.
- Work closely with leads, supervisors, programmers, and quality personnel to meet production requirements.
- Meet established production and quality standards while maintaining attention to detail.
- Demonstrate a willingness to learn additional CNC machining, setup, and programming skills as needed.
Requirements
- Previous experience operating CNC milling machines, preferably Haas equipment.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, drawings, and basic GD&T.
- Familiarity with measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Ability to load and unload parts, perform basic machine setups, and make minor offsets or adjustments as needed.
- Basic understanding of CNC programs, tooling, cutting speeds, feeds, and machine operation.
- Ability to inspect finished parts and verify they meet required specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Ability to follow work instructions, safety procedures, and production schedules.
- Comfortable working independently as well as in a team environment.
- Basic troubleshooting skills and the ability to identify machining or quality issues.
- Reliable attendance, positive work ethic, and willingness to learn and develop additional CNC machining skills.
- Previous experience with Haas controls is preferred but not required.
Pay
Pay Range: $20 - $30 per hour (2nd shift includes a 15% shift differential)
