2Nd Shift Blaster

Smith & Loveless is united under one cause: “Protecting Water. Protecting People.” We are seeking a Blaster (2nd Shift) to partner with our experienced production teams in a physically demanding, environmentally focused industry.

About the role

The primary function of a Blaster (2nd Shift) is to blast and prep production items, miscellaneous parts, and products for paint. This position requires the ability to carry a heavy blaster and move materials (50-100 lbs). Second shift hours are 4:00 pm to 12:30 am.

Responsibilities

• Work with steel grit to remove rust on metal
• Operate overhead cranes
• Operate forklifts
• Read and follow work orders
• Perform simple, repetitive routine tasks

Requirements

• Previous forklift experience and certification preferred
• Ability to read work orders and understand units of measurement
• Demonstrated good work attendance in previous jobs
• Good attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
• Must pass an alcohol and drug screening, background check, and physical exam

Physical Requirements

• Required to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods
• Use hands and fingers to feel objects, tools, or controls
• Frequent stooping, bending, pulling, and pushing
• Reach with hands and arms
• Required to talk and hear consistently
• Ability to lift, carry, and/or drag up to 100 pounds if necessary
• Must be comfortable working in small spaces
• Specific vision abilities required to distinguish the nature of objects
• Ability to wear PPE (eyeglasses, earplugs, protective coveralls, respiratory device, and steel-toe shoes)
• Ability to ascend and descend two flights of stairs
